A 42-year-old teacher Gbolahan Osinusi has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly defiling his teenage ward in the Ketu-Epe area. The victim, who was under Osinusi's care as her guardian, was subjected to years of sexual abuse, starting from the age of 12 until she turned 17 in December 2023.
The perpetrator's cruelty didn't stop there. Whenever the girl became pregnant, Osinusi would take her to a nurse named Mariam Fatolu for abortion drugs, using intimidation and threats to maintain her silence. The victim was coerced into keeping the abuse secret, with Osinusi warning her that she would die if she ever spoke out.
Osinusi has been charged to court as of October 16, 2024, while Mariam Fatolu is currently receiving medical attention at General Hospital Ketu-Epe. She will face charges as soon as possible.
This disturbing case highlights the need for increased vigilance and protection for vulnerable individuals, especially those in positions of trust like teachers and guardians. The Lagos State Police Command's swift action is commendable, and justice must be served for the victim.
