The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) held an emotional ceremony on October 13, 2024, to honor fallen heroes and wounded soldiers. Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali presented gifts to families of fallen soldiers in Mora, Cameroon, and Mongunu, Nigeria.
Maj.-Gen. Ali praised troops for their bravery, saying, "Their sacrifices remind us of the heavy price paid for peace." Wounded soldiers were commended for their dedication.
Sector commanders Col. Tookap Pierre Loti and Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Babayo also paid tribute, describing the fallen as "heroes and valiant martyrs" whose sacrifices "cannot be compensated enough."
The ceremony acknowledged the ultimate price paid by MNJTF personnel in combating terrorism. Their legacies will forever inspire the quest for peace in the Lake Chad region.
