Popular Nigerian rapper and singer, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has sparked massive reactions online after revealing the staggering amount he spends on smoking.
In a video late yesterday, the “Declan Rice” crooner disclosed during a conversation with comedian Carter Efe and another individual that he spends N2 million daily on smoking, amounting to N14 million every week. His revelation left Carter Efe visibly stunned, as he struggled to comprehend such an extravagant lifestyle.
In Nigeria, Africa, and many parts of the world, smoking is widely associated with the entertainment industry. Many artists openly admit to smoking, claiming it enhances their creativity and inspiration for making hit songs. Odumodublvck appears to be one of those artists who believe smoking is an essential part of his creative process.
During their discussion, Odumodublvck casually mentioned his daily expenditure on smoke, which immediately caught Carter Efe off guard. The comedian was in disbelief, questioning how someone could afford to spend such an enormous sum on smoking alone.
Carter Efe, still shocked by the rapper’s revelation, jokingly called him a “bad person” for spending that much while still being part of those who complain about the economic situation in Nigeria. He said;
“Una be bad people. After all, una go talk say country hard, country hard.”
Odumodublvck in response, unfazed by the comment, asked Carter Efe if he truly believed that the country was hard. With a straight face, the rapper questioned; “Country hard?”
Carter Efe, astonished by the question, was left speechless for a moment before responding in disbelief. He found it hard to believe that anyone could question whether Nigeria was going through economic hardship.
“Country no hard for your side?” Carter Efe Asked again, and in response, Odumodublvck simply replied; “God forbid.”
At that point, Carter Efe completely lost it, screaming in shock. He couldn’t comprehend how someone could be so detached from the struggles of the average Nigerian.
Odumodublvck’s revelation has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions from fans and social media users. While some found his statement amusing, others criticized the rapper, arguing that such an extravagant lifestyle is unnecessary, especially in a country where many people struggle to make ends meet.
Despite the backlash, the rapper seems unbothered, maintaining his stance that he is not affected by the economic downturn. His remarks continue to fuel discussions about wealth, extravagance, and the spending habits of celebrities in Nigeria.
