Stakeholders warns Niger Deltans against Pull-Him-Down Syndrome

President General of the South-South Integrity Group for Good Governance Comrade Alex Alabo Nathan, has described as worrisome the recent calls for sack of Niger Deltans occupying public offices.

Nathan in a statement frowned at those initiating a protest against the Special Adviser to the Managing Director of NDDC on Youth Affairs, Mr. Matthew Asime Dango labelling the group as a ‘shadowy group’ and alleged that the initiators of the planned protest are recruiting vulnerable young Niger Deltans, including some stakeholders to stage a protest against Matthew Asime, an action he said is unfriendly to the Development of the Niger Delta region.

He noted that their better ways to resolve issues rather than inciting others against someone who is in position and called for effective synergy between the public office holders and the masses to attain a progressive, responsive and effective governance system.

"We cannot continue to be the enemy to ourselves and the development of our land. Let's learn to resolve issues internally and cut out the media blowout against our own. To what end? We know what our problems are, and we should have a say in how to solve them. But we must be united to achieve more,” he asserted, adding that the S.A on Niger Delta enjoys the trust of the MD Samuel Ogbuku and is contributing his quota to the transformation of the Niger Delta through the many people-oriented programs and projects of the NDDC.

Nathan urged those orchestrating the protest to shelve the plan, and present a genuine complaints and issues necessitating the protest. Although he noted that the S.A. on Youth to the Managing Director of NDDC, understands the frustration in some quarters owing to the harsh economic situation in the country, he however urged them to desist from behaviors motivated by malicious envy which may result in the “pull him/her down syndrome”, saying the endless quick calls for sack of Niger Deltans occupying public offices is worrisome.

In recent times there have been plots in some quarters to impeach the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio which was strongly condemned by the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators.
