Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa popularly called Charley-Boy, has disclosed his relationship with late singer Tyna Onwudiwe.
Charly Boy who is a maverick singer, revealed that he nearly got engaged to the late singer at some point.
The Nigerian singer, Internet personality, songwriter, television presenter, actor, and producer is known for his alternative lifestyle, political views, and media productions.
His genre of music is a blend of Afro-pop, Afrobeat and highlife.
He is also the founder of ‘New Waves Production’ and also the publisher of ‘The Charly-Boy Magazine’. He has also worked with numerous music artists, like the likes of Onyeka Onwenu and many others.
Charly Boy has been married to African-American singer and former fashion designer Diane for over thirty years. And they both have three kids together plus an additional six children from his past marriage.
Rumors had suggested that he is the father of some of Tyna Onwudiwe’s children.
The renowned musician Charly-Boy is widely recognized and has shared insights regarding his connection and affair with the late artist Tyna Onwudiwe.
Charly Boy revealed that he was on the verge of marrying the late singer.
He mentioned that there were speculations questioning his paternity of some of Tyna Onwudiwe’s children.
“I almost married Tyna . One day, we sat down and talked about it. I said, oh, no, I don’t see myself marrying two wives”, he said.
“And by the way, if we get married, we will kill ourselves. Let’s be good friends. And we became the best of all friends”.
“Tyna was such a beautiful soul. She would give her last penny to a stranger and that, was who she always was”.
“People used to tease me by calling her my wife. They said your wife has cancer. I wanted somebody, a female to help me with that. Because if I was doing it on my own, people will say, of course, is she not your girlfriend? Is she not your wife?”.
“In fact, some of her kids, people think they’re my kids.”
Charly Boy did mentioned that he raised funds for the late singer during her fight against cancer, but sadly, the illness ultimately took her life.
Tyna Onwudiwe passed away on June 29, 2001, merely 17 days after her 47th birthday.
