In a bid to transform the state capital and enhance connectivity, the Bayelsa State Government, led by His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri, has embarked on a series of road construction projects.
This new developments was disclosed by the governor's new media team.
The latest development is the ongoing construction of the Glorydrive Phase 3, which is expected to complete the Yenagoa Ring road.
According to Governor Diri, the project is part of the government's urban renewal programme aimed at opening up the state capital.
H.E Governor Douye Diri wrote:
The Governor said "Ongoing Glorydrive Phase 3 Construction in Bayelsa State and under our Government of Prosperity, we are committed to opening up the State Capital, Yenagoa, as part of our urban renewal programme."
"Following the inauguration of the dual carriageway 10.2km Glorydrive Phase 2 built by our administration, work on the Glorydrive Phase 3 from Etegwe end to Imgbi junction in Amarata has since commenced and I am happy with the progress so far to complete the Yenagoa Ring road."
The governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, which commenced shortly after the inauguration of the 10.2km dual carriageway Glorydrive Phase 2.
The Glorydrive Phase 3 project, which spans from Etegwe end to Imgbi junction in Amarata, is expected to enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth in the region.
The project is also expected to complement other ongoing road construction projects in the state, including the Yenagoa-Oporoma road and the Sagbama-Ekeremor road.
Governor Diri's administration according to the the governor's aide has made significant strides in infrastructure development, with a focus on road construction, bridges, and urban renewal projects.
The governor has reiterated his commitment to completing all ongoing projects and initiating new ones to drive economic growth and improve the lives of Bayelsans.
In another significant development, the Nembe-Brass Road project has achieved remarkable progress, with sand filling reaching the 21km point. This was disclosed by the DG New Media, Samuel Kolawole Oredipe.
The project, according to him involves constructing a road in a swampy terrain, is a testament to Governor Diri's commitment to transforming the state's infrastructure.
The asphalting of the first 6.5km section of the historic Nembe-Brass road is currently ongoing, marking a significant milestone in the project's completion.
