APC Passes Vote of Confidence on Tony Okocha

Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State have passed a Vote of Confidence on the Tony Okocha-led Caretaker Committee as well as the South-South Vice Chairman of the party, Victor Giadom for their outstanding leadership performance and contributions to the growth of the party.

The decision was reached during an Expanded Stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Party, APC in Port Harcourt.

Moving the motion at an expanded stakeholders meeting, a stalwart of the party and former Federal lawmaker, Chidi Nwioka said the duo of Victor Giadom and Tony Okocha have earned the trust of members of the party.

He said that Tony Okocha and Victor Giadom have revolutionized the party in the state. Chidi Nwioka noted that APC is the party to beat in Rivers State.

Also, another ex-lawmaker, Irene Inimba who seconded the motion, commended Tony Okocha and Victor Giadom for bringing legitimacy back to the party in the South-South region.

Earlier in his address, a former Chairman of the APC in the state, Ojukaye Flag-Amakiri insisted that Tony Okocha remains the Chairman of the APC in Rivers State.

Ojukaye Flag-Amakiri explained that the National Working Committee of the party has the power to dissolve executives of a state.

He further asked Emeka Beke to hands off the leadership of the party in the state as he is now a persona non grata in the party.

The former APC Chairman in Rivers State further said that the stakeholders in the party will continue to give the Caretaker Committee of the party in the state led by Tony Okocha the needed support to excel in their mandate of reviving the party in the state and also galvanizing support for President Bola Tinubu.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC Tony Okocha revealed that a legal case has been instituted by the APC in Rivers State challenging the forthcoming conduct of Council elections in the state.

Tony Okocha also said that the APC has filed an appeal challenging a state high court ruling that reinstated Emeka Beke as Chairman of the APC.

Our Correspondent reports that members of the party also resolved not to participate in the forthcoming Council elections in the state
