Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has replied to a letter from Femi Falana and his son, Falz, regarding alleged defamatory remarks he made in audio recordings.
The letter yesterday from Falana demanded an apology from Bobrisky within 12 hours, warning of potential legal action if he failed to respond.
In his Instagram Story, Bobrisky firmly stated that he did not defame anyone and denied bribing the Senior Advocate of Nigeria for a presidential pardon.
Bobrisky also announced that he would refrain from further public comments on the matter.
Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okunneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has responded to a letter from renowned lawyer Femi Falana and his son, musician Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz.
Bobrisky apologized for alleged defamatory remarks made in audio recordings shared by social media activist, VeryDarkMan.
Falana’s letter included a 12-hour ultimatum, warning of potential legal consequences should Bobrisky fail to comply.
In a statement posted on his Instagram Story late yesterday, Bobrisky firmly denied the allegations of defamation.
He also dismissed claims that he had bribed the Senior Advocate of Nigeria to obtain a presidential pardon, emphasizing that he would no longer engage in public discussions regarding the matter and would leave all legal matters to his attorney.
Additionally, Bobrisky distanced himself from the controversial audio recordings, stating that the individual responsible for sharing the content should be held accountable.
Bobrisky’s publice statement read;
“I OKUNEYE idris aka BOBRISKY didn’t give Falz or his dad any money for pardon. As a matter of fact no penny was given to them. Have said dis before and i will say it again. The person that published an Audio online should take full responsibility for what he posted in public. My lawyer will respond to any further information the public want to know about dis ongoing issue trending on social media”.
“To who it may concern; In reply to the two letters circulating from the law firm of the Falana’s, I like to state for the records and pending the official reply from my counsel, state for the avoidance of doubt that I Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju aka Bobrisky did not publish any defamatory statements or statements concerning the learned SAN and his son Falz and that it is in public domain pursuant to my solicitors letter dated 27th day of September 2024, that I have denied any knowledge of what VDM published. I stand by my express denial and put the matter to strict proof and advise that whoever that has been defamed should hold the holder of the defamatory content and my fundamental rights to privacy of my communication should be and protected.”
