In a stunning revelation, Justice crusader Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), has peeled back the layers of his tumultuous experience at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office, exposing a world rife with intimidation and intrigue. In a gripping live video, he described entering the EFCC as akin to stepping into a den of vipers, where every glare felt like a dagger of judgment aimed squarely at him.
This revelation comes on the heels of VDM's explosive allegations against the infamous crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky or "Mummy of Lagos." VDM has accused Bobrisky of bribing the EFCC with an astonishing ₦15 million to quash serious money laundering charges linked to the notorious naira-spraying scandal. Bobrisky's actions eventually led to a six-month prison sentence, yet many suspect that his supposed connections allowed him to evade justice, further deepening the public's distrust of the EFCC.
During a recent hearing at the House of Representatives, where VDM and his lawyer were present, the EFCC vehemently denied these bribery allegations, insisting their commitment to justice remains unwavering. However, VDM's latest live session unveiled the emotional toll this battle for justice has taken on him. He lamented that his pursuit of accountability has made him a target, with lawsuits piling up from all sides, while Bobrisky seemingly navigates the legal system unscathed.
"The way things have turned into a constant cycle of 'sue or be sued' is exhausting. I'm just observing the chaos. But one thing is certain: I believe Nigeria can be better," VDM asserted passionately. "It's the small contributions that can drive change, and I will keep speaking out, no matter the pushback."
VDM recounted his unsettling visit to the EFCC office alongside his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju. He described the atmosphere as icy, filled with an unwelcome hostility that greeted them at every turn. As he entered, he felt an overwhelming sense of animosity radiating from the staff, but one particular female officer stood out. Her piercing glare, laden with contempt, struck him like a physical blow.
"In that moment, it was as if her eyes communicated pure disdain," VDM recalled, his voice heavy with emotion. "Despite the venom directed at me, I refuse to let their hatred break my spirit."
VDM emphasized that the scrutiny now directed at the EFCC is a direct result of its own actions, a byproduct of allowing corruption to fester unchecked. His revelations have not only sparked conversations around accountability within the anti-graft agency but have also ignited a fire in the hearts of those yearning for change in Nigeria.
As the saga unfolds, one thing is clear: Verydarkman is unyielding in his quest for justice, and he is determined to hold the powerful accountable, no ma tter the cost.
