Enugu APC Expels Chairman, Eight Others For Misconduct

The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the expulsion of its chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah, along with eight other party members over allegations of gross misconduct.

In an official statement signed by the acting state chairman, Alphonsus Onyeachonam Nwafor, and the state publicity secretary, High Chief Charles-Solo Akor, the party declared that the expelled individuals had persistently violated court orders and engaged in actions that undermined the party’s leadership.

The party mentioned that Agballa and other expelled members have consistently disobeyed court orders that prevented them from parading themselves as executive members of the party.

The statement emphasized that Agballah and the other affected members had disregarded a said court order that prohibited them from presenting themselves as executives of the party. The party statement read;

“The leadership of APC Enugu State Chapter hereby officially expels Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Augustine Alumona, Jude Chinedu Aniogbo, Moses Emeka Eze, Sunday Ugwoke, Ugwu Christian Kanayo, Eze Chidiebere Johnson, Queen Charles, and Onyekachi T. Ezeagu from the APC Enugu State Chapter.

They have consistently defied a High Court order restraining them from arranging, organizing, or holding meetings under the guise of being the leadership of the APC State Executive Committee (SEC) in Enugu State.”

The party leadership accused the expelled members of engaging in actions detrimental to the progress and stability of the APC in Enugu. It reiterated that their activities had been in direct violation of the party’s regulations and the rule of law.

The statement further explained that the decision was a necessary step to uphold the party’s integrity and prevent further disruptions.

“This decision reflects our firm stance on accountability and ethical governance. The integrity of our party is non-negotiable. We will not allow individuals who undermine our mission and principles to remain within our ranks.”

The expulsion of Agballah and his associates marks a significant development in the ongoing internal crisis within the Enugu State APC. It signals the party’s determination to enforce discipline and maintain order within its leadership structure.

Party members and political observers will be watching closely to see how this decision impacts the party’s structure and influence in the state.
