Just IN: Former Oyo Governor’s Wife, Tinuade, Dies at 71

The Ladoja family has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Tinuade Ladoja, one of the wives of former Oyo State Governor and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja. Tinuade passed away on Monday morning at the age of 71 after a brief illness, leaving behind a trail of grief in her wake.

The devastating news was confirmed by Adeola Oloko, the media aide to the former governor, in an emotional telephone conversation with a news source in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. "Yes, it is confirmed. She is dead. May God repose her soul," Oloko said, his voice filled with sorrow as the Ladoja family, friends, and well-wishers come to terms with this unexpected loss.

Tinuade Ladoja was a towering figure, not just within her family but also in religious circles, where she held an esteemed position. Until her death, she was a key member of the Pastor-in-Council of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), the highest decision-making body in the church. Her leadership and spiritual influence will be deeply missed by the congregation.

The CCC Ikeja Parish 1 Cathedral, where she was an active and devoted member, confirmed her passing in a heartfelt post on its official Facebook page. The post read, “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. We submit to His will. #farewell,” reflecting the deep sorrow and faith of the parish in these trying times.

Tinuade Ladoja’s sudden death has sent shockwaves through the community, as many remember her for her grace, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her faith. Her passing marks the end of an era for those who knew her personally and those who looked up to her within the Celestial Church of Christ.

As news of her death spreads, tributes have begun pouring in, with many expressing disbelief at the loss of such a significant figure in Oyo State’s social and religious spheres. The Ladoja family, one of Ibadan's most respected and influential, now faces the daunting task of coping with the void left by Tinuade’s absence.

Details of her funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon, as the family and church community come together to bid farewell to a woman whose impact will be felt for years to come. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
