New Ogbia Youth Leader Mipuru Promises Unity and Inclusivity

Comr. Mipuru Joe Akaragha, the newly-elected President of the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) Worldwide, has promised to prioritize unity, inclusivity, and progress during his administration. Following his victory at the Delegate Elective Congress, he described his election as a win for all Ogbia youths, emphasizing his commitment to fostering harmony among the youth community.

Mipuru in a recent statement expressed profound gratitude to those who supported his candidacy. “This victory is not for any individual or sectional group—it belongs to every Ogbia youth. Now, we must come together to mend the divisions of the past and unite as one people bound by a shared ancestry and vision,” he stated.

He pledged to dedicate his tenure to advancing the interests of Ogbia youths while ensuring that his leadership reflects their collective aspirations. “I am committed to giving my utmost service to our youth community, which remains my primary constituency. Together, through collaboration, constructive feedback, and unity of purpose, we will uphold the values of justice, peace, and progress that define our kingdom,” he added.

Mipuru commended the outgoing administration, led by Ambassador Johnny S. Jonathan, for its accomplishments and initiatives. He vowed to sustain and build upon the successes achieved under their leadership.

The new OBYC leader also extended his appreciation to key stakeholders, including HRM King Dumaro Charles Owaba, the Obanobhan of Ogbia Kingdom, for their guidance and moral support. He further acknowledged the Bayelsa State Government, particularly the Ministry of Youth Development, for its role in empowering the youth body.

In his remarks, Mipuru lauded the OBYC electoral committee for conducting a free, fair, and credible election. He also commended his fellow aspirants for their sportsmanship, calling their efforts an essential demonstration of unity and respect for the process.

Highlighting the need for oneness, Mipuru called on all Ogbia youths to put aside political differences and rally behind a common purpose. “Our strength lies in our unity. To create better opportunities for young people, we must work together, embracing collaboration and shared goals,” he urged.

Concluding his remarks, he called for innovation and resilience among the youth. “Let us move forward as a united front, showcasing the ingenuity and exceptional spirit that define our people. Together, we can achieve remarkable progress and redefine our reality,” Mipuru said.
