The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, says that president Tinubu's led government is committed to terminating the woes of poverty in the country, stressing that the administration is positioned and focused on empowering small businesses in other to drive economic growth in the country.
Governor Sani made this known during a town hall meeting on the Presidential Grants and Loans Scheme for Small and Medium Enterprises set up by the federal government, held in Kaduna, today, Tuesday, the 5th of November.
The town hall meeting which was organized in partnership with the Bank of Industry, is set to engage and prepare potential beneficiaries of the N200 billion Presidential Intervention Fund.
The intervention fund is aimed at supporting and encouraging SMEs and manufacturers nationwide in their business operations.
Governor Sani, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Economic Matters, Ibrahim Mohammed, assured Nigerian's of president Tinubu’s administration in prioritizing the fight against poverty through the establishment of sustainable support for MSMEs, which he described as the “backbone of our economy” and vital contributors to job creation.
In his statement he said, : "This intervention fund couldn’t have come at a better time. It aligns with Kaduna State’s ongoing efforts to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and foster an ecosystem where visions and innovative ideas can flourish,”.
He further explained that the state has taken significant steps to help MSMEs through initiatives led by the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency, offering grants, subsidies, and business development services to local entrepreneurs.
