Uba Sani Applauds Tinubu Over China Memorandum

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has praised the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nigerian and Chinese governments, describing it as a significant step towards advancing transparency and effective public service delivery. The MoU was signed by President Bola Tinubu and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Beijing, China.

According to Governor Sani, the agreement marks a major milestone in the partnership between Nigeria and China and will have far-reaching benefits for the people of Kaduna State. He noted that the MoU will enhance security in the state through the deployment of CCTV cameras, advanced e-governance, public service transparency, and efficiency.

In addition to security, the agreement will also boost the creation of smart education, healthcare services, robust renewable energy, and talent creation through a digital economy within the state. Governor Sani explained that the agreement will improve transportation and agriculture in the state, which are key to job creation and attracting other benefits to the state in the future.

The governor also signed an agreement with the Governor of Hubei province to create a Hubei industrial park in Kaduna, to be built by CCECC, a Chinese company. This agreement aims to attract investors from China to Nigeria and promote economic development in the state.

Governor Sani reiterated that agriculture contributed to about 42% of the GDP in Kaduna, and the state was doing all it could to partner with China to develop the sector. He described Huawei as a promising and reliable partner, saying that the state government had a mutual relationship with the organization.

The governor commended President Tinubu for his determination to ensure Nigeria reaches its promised land and Africa takes its rightful place globally. He noted that the MoUs signed between Nigeria and China were unprecedented and would yield good results.

Governor Sani's visit to China was part of the Nigerian delegation to the FOCAC summit, which aimed to strengthen economic ties between Nigeria and China. The summit saw the signing of several MoUs between Nigeria and China, covering areas such as security, trade and investment, solid minerals, infrastructure, and agriculture.
