The Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (UCCIMA), has reiterated its commitment to create opportunities for farmers and business owners in Abia State,for the purpose of scaling up.
In a chat with our Correspondent, the President of UCCIMA, Hon Chidi Aruoma disclosed that the association is geared towards giving an international facelift to farmers and business owners alike, adding that part of the efforts of actualizing this, was the recent visit of some Indonesian Ambassadors to Abia State.
Aruoma disclosed that the association will soon begin it's 'Trade fair' to help those into Agricultural production, identify and market their products, stating that foreign experts will be witnessing the trade fair to source local produce like beans, ginger,cocoa, tomatoes,cashew among others.

The UCCIMA President, however, intimated Abians of the Agric Expo that is coming up, which is geared towards helping farmers showcase their products.
He added that the membership of UCCIMA runs from Abia Central to Abia North, stating that the association is expanding it's frontiers and it's ready to collaborate with other sister chambers,like Ohafia Chamber of Commerce,among others to expand, pointing that the membership of the UCCIMA is solely for networking purposes.
The President further thanked the Governor of the State, Dr Alex Otti, for creating a conducive environment for businesses to strive with the massive infrastructural development going on in the state.
Meanwhile, the UCCIMA President,used the opportunity to inform Abians of an unknown group parading as an affiliate of UCCIMA, stating that UCCIMA has no affiliate body by the name "Umuahia Chamber Movement".
He warned business owners to desist from doing business with it,as the group is unknown to the UCCIMA, which is the authentic umbrella body, housing business owners in Abia State.
Aruoma further warned those behind the illegal activities of the group, disguising and impersonating UCCIMA to desist forthwith, or face the full weight of the law.
"There' is only one UCCIMA that is duly registered and operational with fully constituted executives.
"Using the name of UCCIMA or any coinage that tends to hoodwink the unsuspecting public into thinking that Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, has an affiliate body that organized an Exhibition is wrong.
"The use of Umuahia Chamber of Commerce registered logo by the said movement to organize an event is fraudulent and we will nolonger tolerate any group parading itself as UCCIMA. Henceforth, we'll confront any of such activities with a Legal action.
"The general public particularly the Abia State Government, Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, organized private sector (OPS), Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Umuahia and environs, including investors across Nigeria, are hereby informed to be wary of this group that goes by the name of Umuahia Chamber Movement",he said.
