We Will Not Return Empty-Handed From Nasarawa -- Apreala

Chairman of Bayelsa Queens F.C. Pastor Robin Apreala has vowed that his team will not return from their Match Day 2 encounter with Benue Queens empty-handed.

Pastor Apreala, who stated this after the team's training on Saturday morning, said Bayelsa Queens need the points to improve their fortunes in the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL).

Speaking with news men after the training at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Apreala said his team is ready and are determined not to come back from Lafia empty-handed.

Apreala said the girls are in high spirits, focused and have assured their teeming supporters that along with the technical crew, they will give their all in the crunchy encounter.

According to the chairman, “We are going into the match with high spirit after our goalless draw with Ibom Angels in Uyo. The Prosperity Girls have now shifted their focus to the NWFL Premiership encounter in Lafia”.

“We are ready for the game and the Technical crew and the players have resolved to give their all in the game against Benue Queens to ensure we pick points and improve our fortune in the league”, he added.

The former NWFL champions are placed 3rd on the log in Group B with four points from two matches.

The match comes up on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1p.m. at the Lafia City Stadium, in Nasarawa State.

In another development, Technical Adviser of Bayelsa Queens, Whyte Ogbonda has assured supporters of the club that he will work diligently with his assistants to qualify for the Super Six and win the league title.

Ogbonda, who spoke after his team's goalless draw with Ibom Angels in Uyo, said to achieve his target of winning the league, the team must prioritize goal scoring.

“I know the expectations of Bayelsans and I will work diligently with my assistants towards the goal of qualifying the Prosperity Girls for the Super Six and winning the trophy,” Coach Whyte said.

Noting that football is all about goal scoring, Ogbonda said he will introduce an attacking mentality to the Prosperity Girls.

Pouring accolades on the girls, he said he was proud with the way his girls played against Ibom Angels, pointing out that their opponents were no push over as some people think.

The coach said he recognizes and appreciates what is ahead of him, and says he loves the challenge.

The former Rivers Angels gaffer said coaching Bayelsa Queens is an amazing job and that he does not take the appointment for granted, adding that he is elated and will do his utmost best.
