Abia Varsity Tells Students to Apply for NELFUND Loan

The Management of Abia University has directed students to apply for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) loan.

The appeal followed the poor compliance of students across tertiary institutions in the South-East region to the scheme.

In a statement signed by Chijioke Nwogu, the University’s Public Relations Officer/Head of Media, it was announced that following Abia State University, Uturu's inclusion in the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Vice-Chancellor Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, on behalf of the Governing Authorities, directsed all interested and eligible students to begin their loan applications immediately.

“The loan, an initiative by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government, provides financial support to qualified Nigerian students for tuition and upkeep during their studies in approved academic institutions in the country.

“Therefore, further to the earlier submission of the student data of Abia State University to NELFUND, interested applicants should visit the Student Loan online portal at www.nelf.gov.ng to start their application process and forward the necessary documentation", he stated

The statement further advised students to contact the Director of ICS or the Students Union Government (SUG) if they encounter any difficulties during the registration process.

"Students are strongly encouraged to seek assistance whenever necessary and to follow the provided guidance meticulously. By adhering to all instructions, students can help ensure that the registration process runs smoothly and efficiently for everyone involved. Following these guidelines is crucial for a seamless experience and will contribute to a successful registration for all participants."
