The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Bayelsa State chapter has felicitated the State Commissioner for Sports Development Dr. Daniel Igali on the occasion of his birthday.
The message of congratulations is contained in a message signed by the chairman of the state SWAN, Mrs Timinepre Ohia and secretary, Mr Patrick Ndubuisi.
Describing Dr Igali as a workaholic and dogged personality who has made a name in the sports sector, the statement says Igali, did not only conquer the world as an athlete but also as an administrator.
The statement further urged others to emulate the sports commissioner's proactive mindset and dedication to service.
It also notes that as President of the Nigerian Wrestling Federation, the 2000 Sydney Olympic gold medallist has set an indelible mark by churning out medals across various national, continental and world championships, stressing that a big shoe awaits whoever eventually takes over from him.
The sports writing body equally congratulated Daniel Igali on his emergence as the Chairman, Niger Delta Commissioners Forum, an honour bestowed on him at the weekend in Port Hacourt, Rivers State, ahead of the Niger Delta Sports Festival.
It expresses confidence in the ability of the Sports Commissioner to deliver at the Festival, following his success at previous engagements or assignments he has handled in the past.
While wishing him a very happy birthday celebration, the sports writers prayed God to grant him more wisdom, strength, good health and more vision to pilot the affairs of the Sports ministry as well as his future endeavours.
It has been an avalanche of birthday messages for the national, African, Olympic and World wrestling champion, Igali, especially from the sports family in Bayelsa State.
One of such congratulatory messages was from the Chairman, Bayelsa United Football Club, Dr. Tarilaye Nwankwe.
Dr Nwankwe, on behalf of the entire management and staff of Bayelsa United, extends warmest felicitations to the Commissioner of Sports Development, Bayelsa State, Dr. Daniel Igali, on the occasion of his birthday.
