Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) has received a significant boost with the approval of six new courses by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The approved courses include Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT), B.Rad. Radiography, B. Agric. Agriculture, B. Eng. Agricultural Engineering, and LL.B. Law.
This development marks a major milestone for CUSTECH, as the university can now offer the programmes starting from the 2024/2025 academic session.
The approval was granted after a thorough resource verification visit by NUC experts, who assessed the university's readiness in terms of human and material resources.
According to the Acting Director of Academic Planning for NUC, Mr. Abubakar Girei, the approval only pertains to full-term programs, and CUSTECH must submit a separate request to offer part-time courses.
“To offer part-time courses, CUSTECH must submit a separate request to the commission for further processing”.
Girei commended Governor Usman Ododo for his role in advancing the education sector in the region, under whose leadership CUSTECH has seen significant growth and expansion.
The introduction of these new courses is expected to attract more students to CUSTECH and contribute to the development of the medical and agricultural sectors in the country.
The courses are in high demand and will provide students with valuable knowledge and skills, preparing them for successful careers in their respective fields.
