My 8-Point Agenda Will Make Life Easy for Nigerians - Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says good management practices remain the panacea to recovering the resources and human capital development in Nigeria.


President Bola Tinubu said this on Monday, September 23, at the 2024 Annual National Management Conference of the Nigeria Institute of Management, NIM with the theme ‘Economic Stability and National Security’.


The President represented by the Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack said that the 8-point agenda of the Federal Government is to make life easy for its citizens.


The President further said that his administration's 8-point agenda to make life easier for Nigerians includes food security, ending poverty, economic growth, job creation, access to capital, the rule of law, and fighting corruption.


He said that Nigerians would soon start to reap the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda.


The President also said economic stability is crucial to sustainable growth in the country.


In the same vein, the keynote Speaker at the Nigeria Institute of Management 2024 annual national management conference, Dr Ajoritsedere Awoksika expressed concern over the high rate of unemployment in the country due to over-dependence on oil.


Dr Awoksika said that Nigeria is ranked high in the global unemployment index.  


She further said that insecurity in the country has worsened the level of unemployment in the country.


The keynote speaker noted that the government must demonstrate the needed political will to address the security challenges in the country.


She said that many investors are staying away from Nigeria because of the rising security challenge in the country.


Earlier, the President of the Nigeria Institute of Management Dr. Christiana Atako noted that insecurity in the country is affecting social economic development in Nigeria.


She said that the organization would continue to train professional managers who would continue to contribute its quota to the development of the nation.


Our correspondent reports that the conference continues tomorrow at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.


In another development, the Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Ngozi Odu called on leaders and managers of the economy to initiate policies that would stabilize the economy.


Governor Siminialayi Fubara also called on the federal government to diversify the economy of the nation and look beyond oil.
