Nigeria has experienced yet another nationwide blackout as the national power grid collapsed for the second time within 24 hours.
The latest incident occurred at 9:17 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, plunging millions of citizens and businesses into darkness.
This marks the second grid failure since Monday, raising serious concerns about the stability of the country’s power supply.
ND Connect reported that the previous collapse disrupted electricity distribution to millions of households and businesses just a day earlier.
While efforts to restore power are ongoing, the consecutive failures have sparked frustration among Nigerians and underscored the fragility of the nation’s power infrastructure.
Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) confirmed the system failure, which caused widespread outages.
“Dear Valued Customer, please be informed that there was a system collapse at 09:17 hrs, resulting in a loss of power supply across our network,” EKEDC stated.
The company assured customers that it is working with partners to restore the grid and will provide updates as soon as power is restored.
