The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has pledged to remain steadfast in his efforts to promote infrastructural development throughout every corner of the State.
During the Happy Hour and Interactive Session for Elected and Appointed Officers of the Labour Party at Ndoro Central School in Ikwuano Local Government Area on Monday, Governor Otti emphasized that the current administration is genuine and dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by grassroots communities.
Represented by Senator Darlington Nwokocha, the Governor emphasized that expanding development to rural areas will significantly boost agricultural production and bring governance closer to local communities.
He highlighted that the imbalance in schools is causing delays in the reconstruction of 271 schools statewide. He also noted that construction of 300 healthcare centers will soon begin to improve access to quality healthcare for rural residents, urging Abians to continue their support for the current administration.
Hon. Chief Ginger Onwusibe, the representative for Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, praised the people of Ikwuano for their support of Governor Otti and all Labour Party candidates in the recent elections. He described the Governor's performance as a strong demonstration of the Labour Party's potential.
In his response, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Augustine Mmeregini, emphasized that the program aims to reach out to the community, especially given the state of Nigeria’s economy. He acknowledged the government's achievements across various sectors and pledged to support the Governor's initiatives.
Mr. Boniface Isienyi, the representative for Ikwuano State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, along with the Mayor of Ikwuano, Mr. Osinachi Nwaka, praised Governor Otti for initiating the construction of the eleven-kilometer Onuiyang-Okporoenyi ring road. They committed to actively participating in initiatives that will support the Governor's efforts in infrastructural development.

In their remarks, representatives of the four clans in Ikwuano, Elder Uche Achugbuo, Chief Uche Okoro, Mr. Henry Eleogu, and Sir Friday Eluwa—urged the Governor to address the poor road conditions and erosion sites in the area. They also expressed their satisfaction with his performance in the State thus far.
