 Woman in Lagos Stabs Neighbour’s Son to Death

In an unfortunate incident, a 19-year-old woman, identified as Fatimo Agboke, has been accused of stabbing her neighbour’s son, Faroul Azeez, during a heated argument in the Ijegun area of Lagos State.


Punch reported  that the incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on September 9, 2024.


The State police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to on Wednesday.


It was learnt that the suspected killer, got into a fight with the 20-year-old victim, during which she allegedly laid hold of a broken bottle nearest to her and stabbed the victim in the neck, resulting in Azeez’s death.


Despite desperate efforts to rush the deceased to the hospital for emergency care, he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away en route.

Hundeyin stated, “On September 9, 2024, a complaint was received from the Ijegun area of the state, reported at Isheri-Oshun Division by a man that a neighbour had an argument with his son.

“The victim was stabbed with a broken bottle on his neck by Agboke, which caused him grievous bodily harm. He gave up the ghost during an attempt to rush to a hospital for medical attention.

In a related development, a suspected armed robber was  beaten to death by an angry mob in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.


 According to SP Moses Joel Yamu, spokesperson for the State Police Command, a statement released over the weekend confirmed that a suspect and two accomplices stormed a compound in Emauodu community, with the intention of robbing the residents. The incident has been officially acknowledging by the authorities 

 

 It was futher learnt that One of the victims raised an alarm which made the other two escape while firing shots in the air.

 

However luck ran out on the deceased as he was apprehended by residents and beaten to d£ath. 

 

“On 05/09/2024 at about 0230hrs, operatives of the Ekpoma Police Division while responding to a distress call about an ongoing robbery incident, rushed to the scene and met the suspect lying lifeless as a result of mob action,” the statement read.

 

 

"He was rushed to Eromosele hospital where he later died and confirmed by a medical Doctor, while receiving treatment.

 

"The operatives gathered that the suspect (now deceased) and 2 others now at large, invaded a compound in Emauodu community, to rob the occupants of their valuables.

 

"One of the victims raised alarm which made the other two to escape while firing shots in the air to scare vigilant members of the community away, but one of them was apprehended and mobbed. Items recovered include a locally made gun and a knife.

 

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Nemo Iwo, psc (+) while commending members of the community for their alertness, appeals to the general public to desist from carrying out jungle justice and always hand over suspects to the Police for investigation.
