Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing projects that directly impact the lives of Rivers people. This declaration was made during the commissioning of the newly remodeled Government Girls Secondary School in Ahoada on December 6, 2024.
Governor Fubara emphasized that his administration will focus on delivering meaningful projects, rather than engaging in deceitful or vindictive actions. He expressed his joy in commissioning a project that was not driven by politics, but rather by the need to provide quality education.
The remodeled school boasts impressive facilities, including 24 classrooms, laboratories for various subjects, a modern assembly hall, and sporting facilities. The project was executed by three contractors and has provided accommodations for the school's principals and vice principals.
During the ceremony, Governor Fubara was also conferred with a chieftaincy title, Eze Eyawe Ugo of Ekpeye land (King of Peace and Eagle of Ekpeye land), by the Eze Ekpeye Logbo, Eze Sir Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo. This title is a testament to the governor's commitment to peace and development in the region.
The governor appealed to the people to remain peaceful and avoid giving detractors the opportunity to attack them. He also assured that his administration will continue to prioritize the needs of the people, with a focus on education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Orliudeye Chinedum Chukwuma, commended Governor Fubara for his investment in education and the completion of the remodeled school. The Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Chibudom Ezu, also thanked the governor for the remodeling of the school and other ongoing projects in the area.
Governor Fubara's administration has been making significant strides in developing critical infrastructure in Rivers State. Recently, the administration completed the reconstruction and upgrading of two secondary healthcare hospitals, the Kelsey Harrison Memorial Hospital and the Dental, Maxillofacial, ENT, and Ophthalmology Hospital ¹. These hospitals are expected to provide quality healthcare services to residents of the state.
