Al Nassr: Portugal Star, CR7 Unveils Retirement Plans

Al Nassr player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed plans to end his career with the club, stating that he was not sure if he would retire within the next two or three years.

The Portuguese superstar has dashed any speculation about a potential return to his first club, Sporting Lisbon, by confirming his plans to remain in Saudi Arabia until retirement.

He said: “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al Nassr.”

Ronaldo also confirmed his desire to continue with his current club and country, expressing contentment with where he is now.

“I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country, too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue,” he said.

Ronaldo, CR7, moved to the Saudi Pro League in December 2022, following his acrimonious exit from his previous club, Manchester United.

Reports said that the football star since his transfer scored a total of 50 goals in 48 appearances for the club.

According to the report, his presence in Al Nassr has not yielded any trophies for the club considering the funds spent.

Al Nassr finished second behind Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League last season and also lost the 2023-24 King’s Cup to their Riyadh rivals.

It was gathered that the estimate of his contract is worth more than $220m.

The 39-year-old reported started all of Portugal’s matches where they reached the quarterfinals before losing to France on penalties at Euro 2024.

The Portugal star has expressed his intentions to continue playing for his country, for the time being. Ronaldo also hopes to feature in the forthcoming Croatia and Poland matches in the nations league.

“When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well, right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play”, he said.

The former Real Madrid forward is currently on 898 career goals, saying that he has no desire to go into management when he eventually hangs up his scoring boots.

“At the moment, I’m not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team,” he said.
